Business Unit description
Led by Dave Penney, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. This broad business unit and incorporates the following functions:
- UCAS Media education and industry Sales
- Education and Industry Marketing
- Digital Marketing Operations
- Public Affairs, Press and Communications
The business unit is set up to deliver against the objectives of UCAS charity and operate UCAS Media (UCAS’s commercial subsidiary) to help fund UCAS’s charitable operations. For the charity, our objective is to provide everyone with the information, advice and guidance they need to make informed decisions on their next steps. We deliver on this via our media ecosystem which consists of information, advice and guidance on ucas.com, our social media feeds across various channels, email, live events and webinars.
For UCAS Media, our business objective is to generate revenue through paid collaborations with higher education providers who wish to improve their position in the market, and commercial brands who want to reach students. All brands wishing to use our media ecosystem and insight services must align with our framework. All profits generated are gift aided to UCAS the charity and in turn fund the charitable objectives, such as our recent announcement that students in receipt of free school meals will no longer need to pay the UCAS application fee.

About the role
The Digital Campaign Executive is responsible for creating email & SMS campaigns on behalf of clients using the latest technology, monitoring email quality, testing templates and HTML emails to ensure they are optimised for different email clients and devices, as well as liaising with clients and internal teams where necessary.
You will be enthusiastic about the digital advertising landscape and be prepared to tackle a wide variety of tasks. You will have strong multitasking skills and be able to manage multiple campaigns with different deadlines at the same time. You will have a strong customer service focus, be keen to develop new skills, be flexible, and enjoy working closely with colleagues.
*Please note: This is a 12 month fixed-term contract, and we will consider full-time and part-time (24.5 hours) applications.
Key accountabilities:
- Manage a broad range of high-volume email campaigns on behalf of clients.
- Use market ESP software (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) to create and implement both automated and manual email and SMS campaigns.
- Use Marketing Cloud products including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Einstein and Mobile Connect to facilitate market leading campaigns.
- Build and deploy dynamic and mobile friendly emails, including AB testing, and generate customised reports.

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
- A working knowledge of email and SMS delivery platforms and related product
- One year+ of experience working in digital marketing
- Track record of delivery in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired:
- Experience in B2B and B2C marketing
- Hands on experience with an ESP (Marketing Cloud preferred, or dotdigital, hubspot, mailchimp or similar)
- Experience in HTML/CSS coding (preferably focused on email)
- Appreciation of cross browser/email compatibility issues.

Salary - up to £25,000 (pro rata for part-time applicants)
