About the role
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Manager at UCAS will be the Subject Matter Expert for the platform, responsible for owning, optimising, and evolving the organisation’s use of Marketing Cloud Engagement. This role will be responsible for driving change management initiatives, ensure user adoption and collaborating closely with marketing teams, IT and cross-functional teams to embed Marketing Cloud in a best practice approach for its usage.
You will support business users to put customers and students at the heart of our marketing strategies, to give students a seamless experience across channels and inspire and support their choices throughout their studying life and beyond.
Key accountabilities:
• Act as the technical owner and subject matter expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), with accountability for solution design, configuration, and development standards
• Design and deliver scalable, end-to-end technical solutions across Marketing Cloud, including data models, integrations, automation, and personalisation use cases
• Lead hands-on development across SFMC components such as Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, and scripting environments (AMPscript, SQL, SSJS)
• Define and enforce best practice for data architecture, segmentation, campaign orchestration, and automation design

Skills, qualifications, and experience
• 5+ years’ hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement, including significant experience in technical build and development
• Proven hands-on expertise in SFMC development, including SQL, AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS), HTML, and CSS
• Demonstrable experience designing and implementing data models, integrations, and automated marketing workflows within SFMC
• Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g. Email Specialist, Administrator) – essential requirement
• Strong understanding of Marketing Cloud architecture, including data structure, contact model, and cross-channel orchestration
• Experience integrating SFMC with other platforms via APIs, data extensions, and external data pipelines
• Experience working in close collaboration with engineering and data teams on complex implementations
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, technically complex CRM or marketing technology solutions
• Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy best practices (including GDPR)
• Experience leading technical delivery while supporting and mentoring team members
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Package
Salary up to £60,000
